It is Education Awareness Week. So, as FlagRunners we took a tour of some of the local schools in our area and took a moment to appreciate their flag displays. While flying a flag for public school is mandatory, it is not a requirement for private schools. To our delight, every school we stopped at this morning had a flagpole. With the recent 68 tornadoes which devastated the Midwest yesterday, we ran into some storm-related flag problems. But by most reports, the flags were well cared for, and the educators were hard at work.

We'd like to now take a moment to recognize the flag flying at these educational facilities. We'll be running to more schools this week. So stay tuned!
