St. Patrick used the three leaf clover to explain the holy trinity. But it became a unique symbol of luck and strength to all Irish. St. Patrick, a slave by the age of six escaped, only to return as the first Bishop. He worked to free all Irish and condemn those who imprisoned others. He was the original luck of the Irish.
